Liguigas-Doimo

Is an Italian team sponsored by Liquigas, a bottle gas company.  In 2004 they began a cycling team to show the passion and reliability the company embodies.  They feel cycling is important for the youth of Italy, so for the last 4 years they have hosted a cycling camp for kids 7 to 12 years old.  This year  their GC rider  Ivan Basso is only 5 minutes out at this point in the race.  Yesterday, Basso and Lance rode the last mountain together.  Look for the bright blue-green jersey, they will be exciting to watch.  

Lord, Team Liquigas has a passion for cycling and good business.  I pray that you will turn their passion for cycling into a passion for you.  I thank you that they care about the future of cycling in the youth of Italy.  I pray too for the youth and children of Italy.  Let the little children come to you.  I pray that they will hear and become passionate for the gospel of Christ.  Thank you for Team Liquigas, bless them as they ride and I pray that they too will become passionate for you.  I pray this in the name of Jesus. Lampre – Farnese

Lampre has come to play.  They are enjoying themselves at this tour with Petacchi winning two stages.  Lampre is an Italian team which began in 1990 and has done well.  They have not won the Tour de France yet, but they have enjoyed stage wins over the years.  As you see the bright pink think of Italy and pray for the people there that they will put God as their Lord and king of their heart. 

Thank you Father, for the country of Italy and for the history of  the early Church that played out in Rome.  Lord, from the very beginning of the Church the Roman Empire was important to the spreading of the gospel message.  I pray that once more that your body of Christ in Italy will become active in spreading your word to the world.  Thank you for the rich heritage, but each generation must believe the truth of your word.  So I pray for this generation.  Lord, help them to believe in you and not only in the traditions of man.  Thank you for our history and heritage you have provided.  I pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
