The Hope

The first candle of Advent is the candle of Hope. Our Hope is in the Living God, who created all things and provides us with Salvation. Let us take the time to thank our Lord for the hope He renews each morning. For He has sustained us with His endless supply of Hope throughout this year.

Psalms 33:18-22
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

LORD, we bow before you for our hope is in you. You are our source of hope and because of this we fear you and we hope in your great mercy. We thank you for the deliverance you have given us through the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We can trust in you to be our help and our shield each and every day in the battle. Let your mercy be on us for we hope in thee this week. Thank you for the hope you have given us for this day and for each day to come in the life of your church here in France.
In the name of Jesus, the true source of hope.
Amen.
