Praise You Lord

10 Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
11 Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
I Chronicles 29:10-13

Lord, over the Last month we have asked You to guide, direct, and lead us through the north east corner of France.  Father You are faithful and true and we give You all the Glory for the beauty of this region and for the people who live here.  Today, we end our journey in the department of Haute-Marne in the Cathedral in the city of Langres.  Today, we take a seat and listen to the silence of Your Holiness, and we realize how great You are as our guide throughout our days.  We sing with David and praise Your greatness and perfection in Your timing.  Lord, we trust You with the path our lives will take.  We will trust in You.  We kneel and pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Marne

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Psalm 5:8

Lord, sometimes our lives take twist and turns and we can get lost so easily without You to guide us. Lord, thank you for being our guide and leader.

Take us by the hand and walk with us and when the journey gets hard and the way treacherous, we will need to trust you to lead the way even though we do not understand why you are moving in that direction.  We will trust in you.

Lord, we pray that in the department of Marne, people will ask you for guidance and leadership. We pray they will trust in you.
We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Aube

Matthew 7:14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.

Holy Father, we pray for the people of the department of Aube.  We pray that they will find the narrow way which leads to life.  Lord, You sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins and make a way of atonement for each one of us.  Lord, give us a way to share the gospel in Aube, France.  Lord, you know who needs to hear the gospel message this week.  Let them hear your Word spoken today.  Allow your message to be shared clearly with boldness and grace.  We pray in the name of Jesus our Savior.  Amen.

Sunday Prayers

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalms 32:8

It seems to be that if we want God to guide us then we need to be teachable desiring God's instruction. God promises to use His eye to guide us. Have you ever wondered what God can see with His Eye.  God has had the ability to see for an eternity.  He has seen it all and He is the knowing God full of wisdom and truth, and yet if you are like me I depend on what I see to guide men and I don't see very much.  Let us be guided by the eye of God and stay teachable this year.

Father we pray that the pastors, church members and believers in France will stay teachable and will let the Your eye guide them throughout 2017.  Amen.

Taste of Lorraine

Quiche Lorraine - Back to the French Basics
Author:
Recipe type: Lunch or Dinner
Cuisine: French
Serves: 8

Quiche Lorraine recipe using the authentic French techniques for preparing the pastry dough.
Ingredients
  • Shortcrust Pastry
  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g cold butter
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp cold water (more, if required)
  • Filling
  • 180 g smoked speck bacon, cut into cubes
  • 100 g Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 3 eggs
  • 125 ml thickened cream
  • 125 ml whole milk
  • Salt, pepper
  • Nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 C.
  2. In a large bowl, add 200 grams of flour. Cut 100 grams of cold butter into small cubes then add to flour mixture. Rub the butter and flour between the palms of your hands until it becomes like sand.
  3. Make a well in centre of the flour mixture- add the egg into well and stir; add the cold water a little at a time.
  4. Form the dough into a ball and then push the dough out away from you on the countertop, using the palm of your hand (le fraisage). Cover the dough with plastic and place in fridge for 15 – 30 minutes.
  5. Roll-out the dough making occasional quarter turns- leave 2 cm margin larger than the quiche mould.
  6. Drape the dough over the mould leaving the 2 cm margin- gently push the dough down to fit the shape of the mould. Prick bottom of crust with a fork.
  7. To blind bake the dough:
  8. Place parchment paper inside of mould and fill with pie weights or raw rice. Bake in oven for 15 minutes. Remove pie weights and let dough cool.
  9. Remove rind and cartilage from the bacon slab- cut into small cubes . Slightly brown the bacon bits with a little butter, over medium high heat and then drain on kitchen paper.
  10. Grate the Gruyère cheese and place it on bottom of baked quiche dough, then add the bacon bits.
  11. Prepare the filling: beat 3 eggs together, then add the cream, milk, salt and pepper to the mixture. Add this to the cooked quiche dough then top with a little more of the grated cheese.
  12. Bake for 30-40 minutes – quiche should be light brown ‘biscuit colour.’
  13. Let the quiche cool then remove the bottom from the quiche tin.
  14. Place chopped parsley garnish on top of quiche and several small pieces of bacon- this will also serve to identify the type of quiche you have just made.

Lorraine

Lorraine was a region  comprised of four department.  Meuse (55), Moselle (57) Meurthe et Moselle (54), and Vosges (88).

If you like quiche then you probably have had a version of a Lorraine Quiche.  Lorraine has a deep Germanic history going back many years and yet it is France and so we pray for France and the people who live here.

Lorraine part of Grand Est

Lorraine has battle scars and rich history.  Joan of Arc is one of the most famous warriors from this
battle field, but many more followed in the centuries to follow.  The web site About France.com has a wonderful page on the history and people of Lorraine.

Lorraine borders three neighboring nations of Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium and consist of 4 departments, (54) Meurthe-et-Moselle, (55) Meuse, (57) Moselle,  and (88) Vosges.

We will pray that Lorraine will rely on  God to guide them.
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1: 79

Lord, we need you as the light of the world and as our guide.  We know that we are lost without you.  Lord, continue to shine light into Lorraine and remove the darkness in our hearts, guide our feet into the way of peace here in Lorraine.  We pray in the name of Jesus our light and guide.  Amen.

Haut-Rhin

This little corner of France has been fought over and been controlled by Switzerland, and Germany at time.  You are able to see all three cultures intermingled in Haut Rhin.  This area has the smallest unemployment and many of the citizens work in Switzerland.

Pray that the Gospel of Christ will flow freely over the border and let the Churches in all three nations  have a unity as they work together to to be the love of Christ to the people in this area.

Thank you Father for the beauty of this area and the people who live here.  Thank you for their history and culture.  Lord, we pray that the Gospel of Christ will flow in hearts and across borders.  Let all people hear the gospel of Christ and believe.  Lord, we pray that they will seek you as guide and Savior.  Lead us as we pray for Haut-Rhin France. We pray in the name of Jesus Amen

Grand Est

Grand Est is a new region created in 2016 combining Alsace, Lorraine and Champagne-Ardenne.  This January we will be praying for the people, and the Body of Christ in this region. We know that God knows each person and has a plan for their lives.  during this month we will be pray that believers and unbelievers will SEE God as their guide and TRUST in Him.

Isaiah 58:11
And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Sunday Prayers

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isaiah 58:11

The Lord shall guide us continually.  There is not a moment or a day that goes by where we are guided by the Lord.  When we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit Life is satisfying and our soul is in a good place with the Lord God.

Lord, we Pray for the our brothers and sisters in Christ who live and serve you in Grand Est.  Lord you are their guide as well, and they have the same struggles of following, submitting and waiting for the light to shine.  Lord, we know you guide us and we know that there are benefits from following, but we are like sheep and wonder off.  We go our way and get very lost.  Lord, forgive us for getting lost.  Be our Shepard and guide this day.  We desire to follow You, please lead us.  We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
