Picardie is famous for its glassware and so the thought David gave us in Psalms 23 when he said, "My cup runneth over" came to mind and then I looked to see where else the word "cup" is used in scripture and it brought me to many passages. In Psalm 116:13
and later Jesus ask his disciples if they were willing to drink his cup.
Here in Picardie, I pray that they will see the cup of salvation and be willing to take and drink. God is faithful to fill our cup and give us more then we can provide for ourselves, but at the same time the cup can be hard to drink as Jesus knew his cup would be. Yes, God has freely given to us his cup of salvation, but for Him it came with a great cost and so when following Christ cost us, we can willingly drink it to the end for we know our Savior did it all for us.
Lord, I thank you for the cup which you give to us to drink. You have provided salvation for each of us as you died on the cross and as we live our lives help us to faithfully drink our cup and follow your example. We thank you for your love and grace for each one of us and we pray for the souls of Picardie. Lord as they live their lives I pray they will see the cup of salvation and take it. I pray that they will believe as they call on the name of the Lord. We know that you are worthy of our praise, glory and honor for you are the Truth and Life. Be with the churches and believers here in this region. I pray that they will continue to be faithful to you and all that you have called them to do. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Jesus, the cup of my salvation. Amen
