Victory for Sagan, but Misery for Others.

Hats off to Peter for his win today in Stage 6.  It was a hard battle at the line and a great win for Peter and his team Liguigas, but the destruction 16 miles back down the road made many loose heart today. 

Lord, please protect them as they ride.  Help them all to make better and safer choices tomorrow.  Bring healing to those who are hurt.  This is a long race with many more days ahead.  Bring hope and strength today. Lord, we see the outward pain they have suffered today, but you see their inward struggles, minister to each one with your loving hand.  We pray all these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Épernay is located south of Reims and is known for its champagne production.  Église Évangélique Vie Nouvelle is a church here in Épernay.  Encourage them with an email today. Let them know you are praying.

Pray for safety tomorrow.  The crashes that they have been having has to hurt and affect their racing.

Father, We pray that the people of Épernay will desire to walk with you as their guide and teacher.  So many times we go our own way thinking we know what is best.  Bring hope into lives of families.  Lord, as people begin to walk in your way they change the way they think, talk and act.  Lord, we pray for these changes to happen here in Épernay.  We know you can be their God and Savior.  We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Yesterday’s Winner

Edvald Boasson Hagen was the winner as he crossed the line in a bunch sprint. Norway was show cased on the podium with Boasson Hagen with the stage and Thor with the yellow jersey. Congrats to Sky and Boasson Hagen.

Étape 6 Dinan to Lisieux

Today and tomorrow will be sprint finishes.  We leave the medieval city of Dinan located in Brittany and travel to Lisieux in the region of Normandy. Dinan is a small port city along the river.  Today you are able to see much of the original city.  It looks very royal. At the finish line in Lisieux we find the Basilica of St.Thérèse.  Over two million visitors come each year on a pilgrimage looking for favor from God.

Lord, we pray as the millions pilgrimage to Lisieux looking for your favor I pray the find that you are waiting for them to come into a personal relationship, knowing you as their Lord and Savior.  Lord, thank you for the salvation that Jesus has provided us on the cross.  Lord, many are seeking but do the see the salvation you have provided through grace and mercy.  Do they except your love and assurance of their justification through the righteousness of Christ.  We pray that they will see and believe.  We pray in the name of Jesus our Savior.  Amen

Étape 6, Montargis > Gueugnon

Montargis is almost 60 miles due south of Paris and only 40 miles to Orléans. It is found in the department of Loiret (45) in the region of Centre.  There are around 160,000 people in this beautiful city.  They have a wonderful website.   Leaving Montargis we will be moving in southeastern direction into Burgundy.  In Praying for France we have just finish this region, but it is good to be back.  They will bike through Nièvre (58) stopping in Saône-et-Loire (71) in the city of Gueugnon.  Burgundy or Bourgogne as the French call it is a beautiful wine country.  It is fun to watch the pictures from the helicopter through this region.  All the chateaux and vineyard, and sunflowers.  Enjoy this region of France, praise the Lord for he is God and he is aware of the needs of this area and is working here.  We serve a great and mighty God.

We declare you among the nation of France today.  Thank you for all that you are doing here.  We know that you have not forgot this beautiful land.  Thank you for the people here and how they have taken the natural resources of this region and made them wonderful for all of us to enjoy.  We are all blessed by the blessing you have given this area.  Thank you Father for all that you are doing among the lives here in France.
