Stage 15 Mende / Valence

This Sunday the Tour rode through the southern parts of France from Mende to Valence.  From the region of Languedoc-Rousillon to Rhone Alpes.  Tomorrow they will be riding in to  Gap.  Today was the last day for the sprinters till the the ride into Paris.  It was a fight for the line and I hope your favorite crossed the line in good time.

Father we continue to pray for the southern region of France.  Today we pray for the mothers and wives as they raise their children as they teach them to love You.  Lord, please bring strength and blessing to each mom as the work hard each day to give to their kids a good life.  Lead them to You.  We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Stage 14 Rodez / Mende

Yesterday the tour moved on to the Languedoc-Roussillon region ending in the 48th department Lozere landing on an air strip on top of a hill.  This area of France reminds me of Sardinia but with more green.  I love the rocks and the interesting shapes they are created in.  God is so varied in His Creation.

Father,
Each day we see beauty, but the beauty of your creation changes from day to day as the tour rides through France.  Thank you for all your handiwork in this region of France.  Lord, as we go we pray for those who are proclaiming your name today.  Give them boldness and grace as they tell others your wonders and grace through their lives, words and actions.   Father, thank you for using us to be your hands and feet.  We pray this because we desire for the people of France to look at your beauty and know and believe that you are the creator and that you love them and desire to redeem us all and welcome us into your Family as Children of God.  Thank you for the redeeming works of Jesus Christ we all would be lost without your beauty of grace.  We pray all these things in the name of Jesus for the Salvation of France.  Amwn

Gard 30

Father, we pray for the people who live in the department of Gard France.  We see these bridges and we pray that they will see the bridge your Son built with the cross.  The bridge that was placed to provide for us a way to You.  Thank you for providing salvation through the cross.  I am humbled by the idea that you almighty Father loves us so much that you would allow your only begotten son to die in my place and pay my debt so that I can move from death to life, from darkness to light, from being separated from you to being your child.  Thank you for the people of France.  Open their eyes to see your salvation.  We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen

Aude (11)

Department Aude (11) is found in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon.


God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and mountains fall into the heart of the sea.  though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  Ps 46:1-3







Dear Father, We pray for the department Aude in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon.  Lord we pray that the people of Aude will look to you as their refuge and strength.  I pray that they will be searching for you for help with each issue in their lives.  Lord, we pray that you become their personal Lord and Savior.  Lord, bring your message of salvation to the people of Aude.  We pray all these things in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Étape 14 Limoux > Foix

Luke 6:48
They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.

Today we ride from Limoux in the region of Languedoc-Rousillon to Foix in the Midi-Pyrénées region.  Today, the mountain rises before them as they head west into the Pyrénées. When we arrive in Foix there will be a castle built on a rock high above the city.  It brought to mind this verse in Luke.  This verse and those around it tells us that the people who listen and obey God's Word are like wise men who build their house on the rock. 

Lord, we pray that we will be people who listen to your word and obey, so that we can be like a man building a house on a rock.  When life's storms come, if our lives are firmly built on the foundation of Your word they will not be shaken.  Lord, we pray that people of France will see that your word is the solid rock they need for their lives.  We pray that someone today will open your Word and read and as they obey their lives will be built on your Word. Thank you for the foundation you provide. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus. Amen

Today on the ride to the coast your will be passing a few towers in the city of  Uzes.  One part of the tour that I enjoy is the pictures from the helicopters as they fly over the country side.  Yesterday there was a cross along side the road that was good to see.  Today, the tour will be heading though Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region and into Languedoc-Roussillon Region, both of these regions have beauty that is enjoyable to watch.  Pray for these regions as they ride. 

Bermonde tower

Lord, your name is a strong tower.  Thank you for providing a safe place in this world.  As we watch the tour today we see strong towers that men have built to keep their kingdoms safe, but we know that our everlasting safety comes because your name is above every name.  We pray that the people of these regions will come to know your name and the safety that comes when we run to you.  We pray all these things in the name of Jesus, our strong tower.  Amen.

Étape 15 - Limoux to Montpellier

CESSENON-SUR-ORB

Here in Mobile we have a street named Montpellier, so I pray for this city often.  Today our stage is a sprinters stage and so look for a speedy finish. Today we will pray through the department of Aude (11) and the Hérault department (34)in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. As you travel through France you see many strong castles. Some have stood for many centuries built with stones by mighty men. Some have been beaten down over the years and others still stand today. Pray for the people of this area to know that God is our strong tower our fortress. In Proverbs 18:10 it says "The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

Lord most High, we can run to you and be safe for you are a fortified tower. Lord, we pray that as the people of France live among these towers that they will see that you are the fortified tower they need. Lord here in the Lanquedoc-Roussillon region we pray that people will proclaim, "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. We pray that they will take refuge in You. We simply pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen

PRAYER ALERT

A message from 24/7 Prayer - Prière Narbonne!

A group of 14 people have committed themselves to praying continually for the city of Narbonne and for France this week.

We are just a small group but we have a very big God and are excited to see what He will do with this time, in our own lives, our church, the city and the nation of France.

We are going to take it in turns to prayer walk through the city, both day and night and will be praying for these specific issues:

- For the authorities in the city, that decisions are made with wisdom, justice and compassion and that righteous men and women who are not corruptible by power or money are placed in positions of authority.

- We will walk past the schools and the hospitals praying for the young people and for the sick. For issues of finances, justice and equality that faces these institutions daily.

- We pray for the other churches in the city, for unity between the different denominations and for opportunities to pray together in the future.

- We will walk through the streets with our eyes open, listen to Gods voice and letting him break our hearts with compassion for the many homeless people here. We will pray for wisdom to know how to act.

- We will think about the history of this country, for all the blood spilt in the name of God. We ask for forgiveness and pray that we are able to shine light lights in the darkness, addressing the misconceptions that people have about God.

As the French people are petitioning their government about pensions and the retirement age we will be lifting our Prayers Petitions and Thanksgiving to our God and asking for his love to explode across this city, cutting though the veneer of prosperity to reach the people who need him most.

As with all of the countries we have been praying for over the last few months, the issues are enormous. We feel called to do what we can, each within our own community. To model a new way of doing things, praying that His Kingdom come and His will be done so that we can see a little bit of heaven here on earth.

That could sound quite fluffy and nice but we are being challenged to dedicate ourselves to purity & holiness, to humble our hearts completely, surrendering our lives to His will so that He can use us like tools in His tool box as we pray and act in His authority.

Étape 12, Bourg-de-Péage > Mende

Sovereign Lord,

Creator of all things.  Today as we watch the race we see your mastery over all things.  Thank you of all the beauty and majesty that we enjoy today we know that it comes from you.   You are a good and loving God and you have revealed yourself to us, therefore we are without excuse, but, we have fallen short of your glory.  We have all sinned and need your redeeming love.  Jesus, you are the Christ, and we thank you for dieing for us.  We are eternally grateful for the life that you have given us, but our hearts are broken when we see so many around us who do not believe you are the Christ.  Lord, we know that only you can change their hearts, but I do not want to be the reason they have rejected you.  Sovereign Lord call the people from Bourg-de-Péage to Mende to salvation.  We love them and we desire for them to know you.  Holy Spirit increase their desire to seek after God, and help us to love each other and speak truth so that they can believe that Jesus is the Christ.   Add many to your Church today.  We pray through the name of the Holy Servant Jesus.  Amen

Pyrénées-Orientales Department 66

Lord,

I pray that we will be reminded of the cost you paid to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit. We thank you for sending your Spirit to live in our hearts and minds, forgive us when we go and do our own thing without your guidance and strength. Today we surrender to the guidance of your Holy Spirit. We thank you that he enables us to love each other and serve each other. Lord, I pray that we allow the Spirit to work through us for the betterment of the body of Christ. Thank you for giving us the same power that raised you from the dead to work and live in us. Lord, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Rain on the Churches in Pyrénées-Orientales this week.

Lord, I know that you stand at the heart's door and knock for the lost of Pyrénées-Orientales to open and invite you in. I pray that soon they will open their door and welcome you into their hearts.

I thank you and praise you in the name of my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

Praying for Lozere Department 48

John 11:25-26
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shal never die. Believest thou this?

Lord, here in Lozere one can see the beauty of Cevennes National Park, and here you can hike and see your creation, but one can be reminded of your death as they see the stone crosses or see the sheep in the fields. I know that when I see these things I am reminded that you died for me so that I might have life. Lord, we each deserve death because of our sin, but because you are the resurrection and the life we can believe on you and receive life eternal. Lord, take the salvation message to the lost in Lozere and please remind those who do believe in you that they are able to live in your power and strength each and everyday. I pray for France and the people who have come to worship you today. Lord, provide encouragement and life to the body of Christ. I pray in the name of Jesus the resurrection and the life.

Herault Department 34

1,000,000 people strong is the department 34. Herault is filled with man. Montpellier is one of the fastest growing cities in France at this time. Montpellier is the capital of this region and known for it's medical school. Herault has many churches teaching the gospel but I fear not enough to tell 1,000,000 people. Pray for the churches in this area that they will preach and teach the truth as God's word tell us. Pray that the lives of the pastors of these churches will be good examples to their flocks. Pray for protection over their families. Pray that God will raise up Christian book stores, Christian School, and Christian Universities in this area. Pray that soon this area will be sending out missionaries to other parts of France and the world.

Lord, you know that Herault is filled with beautiful cities and beautiful people. Lord, thank you for the churches in this area that are teaching the gospel of Christ. Thank you for the words that have been spoken today in the churches of this department and through out France. Bless the pastors and those who have taught your word today. Lord, I pray that your word will not return void on this day. Touch hearts and save souls for your honor and glory. I pray that the Christians from this area will be strong and go out into other parts of France to be missionaries to their own people and then out to the world. Thank you for your good news and I pray that the Department of Herault will be a area that will be faithful and go to all the world.

Pont-Saint-Esprit

Pont-Saint-Esprit is a town and a bridge in the north area of Gard. The name brings a smile to my face. I have been reading the book Forgotten God by Francis Chan and He brings the Holy Spirit to life in this book. It has made me think long and hard about how the Holy Spirit should be working in my life. Good book, it would help every believer in their Christian walk.

Lord, the Holy Spirit does act as a bridge between you and me, but at the same time the bridge does not stop when he reaches the shore of my soul. Instead He flows right in and stays. Lord, I pray for the people of Pont-Saint-Esprit. I pray that the bridge will become a reminder of how you desire to live within their hearts. I pray that the bridge will give them a picture of how you have made a way for us to cross over to heaven because of the bridge that Jesus built when he died on the cross for our sins. Lord, let the Holy Spirit do a great work in the lives and people of Pont-Saint-Esprit. I pray in the name of Jesus Amen

Gard Department 30

Gard
As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. John 9:4

Lord, here in Gard one can see that the day needs to remain long. Lord there is much work to be done so please keep the night away so that we can be about the work you sent us to do. Lord, send the workers to the department of Gard, so that many will come to know you. Lord just like you open the eyes of the blind when you were here, please open blind eyes and hearts so that they can see you and believe on your name. Lord, we pray that your work will be done in Gard. Strengthen the church and refresh the souls of those who believe in you.
I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

Aude Department 11

The people of Aude are know as "Audois". They enjoy a Mediterranean climate. Carcassonne is the capital city of this department. History goes back nearly to the very beginning of time. This area is known for the remains of the oldest human remains in Europe. Here one may also see the effects of the Cathar beliefs started back near the 11Th century. Many people through the ages have worked hard off the land and sea and called Aude their home.



Lord, still today people work hard to make a go at life here in Aude. I pray for these people. Throughout the centuries you have been with these people. Lord, I ask that in the next few days, weeks, years that many people will come to know you as their personal Lord and Savior. I know you can send the labours into your harvest field of Aude. Lord, lay the needs of this area on someones heart, and continue to call until all have heard.
Bless the churches that are here and help them to grown in love for you and for each other so that they will be Fishers of men in Aude. Thank you for this area. Lord, thank you for the beauty of your creation in Aude. I pray all things in the name of Jesus. Amen

Languedoc-Roussillon

As we leave the region of Aquitaine and flow down the canal du Midi to the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. This canal was built in the 17Th century. Our hearts are sad to leave our new friends in Christ in Aquitaine but to pray for all of France this year we most move on to our next region.

Languedoc-Roussellon is full of wonder as we explore new cultures, history and people.
Go France is filled with interesting facts about Languedoc-Roussillon. Here we hope to find God's people doing God's work.

Lord, we come to a new region of France and Lord I know that you know each city, village, and person by name. Lord, I pray that as we learn and pray for this area of France that you will burden us with the needs of each person. Lord, thank you for those who faithfully serve and I pray that you will supply their needs and encourage them to continue to stand for you in their homes, cities, departments and regions. Thank you for each one who knows you.
